My Plan

David Morris has a track record locally as the man who gets things done. During his time as our Member of Parliament he has secured well over a billion pounds of investment into our area, with our area being vastly changed as a result.

We now have the potential to become a hub for green tourism and David's plan for the next 5 years lays out a roadmap for how we can achieve this. David lives in Heysham with his family and is personally invested in the future prosperity of our area.

David has delivered the road to Eden, he now wants to deliver the next phase to make our area a green tourism powerhouse.

  • Secure a new nuclear power station in Heysham

Jobs in the energy sector are vital in our area as our largest employer. David Morris has secured Heysham 3 as one of 8 sites in the Country where new nuclear can be built. He is ensuring one of the new small modular reactor power stations will be built

  • Promoting cycle access routes in the Lune Valley

Cycle routes connect towns and bring green tourism. The Sedbergh to Kirkby Lonsdale route has been planned since 2005 and David wants to make it a reality. He is also supporting work by Sustrans to connect cycle infrastructure from Caton to Kirkby Lonsdale.

  • Securing a new hospital in Lancaster

David has worked with Ministers over many years to successfully make the case for a new £1 billion hospital in Lancaster. The funding has been allocated and the hospital will be a new building on a new site and will replace the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

  • Improving the passenger terminal at Heysham Port

The Eden Project will increase the number of visitors to the area, including to and from the Isle of Man. David wants to solidify this relationship by improving the facilities at Heysham Port for passengers accessing the IOM Steam Packet.
