On 4 September, National Grid launched a 12 week consultation on plans to connect new sources of electricity generation into the electricity transmission network. It is encouraging people to take part in one of its 33 consultation events for its North West Coast Connections Project, taking place across Cumbria and Lancashire. As part of the consultation, people are being asked to give feedback on different groups of route corridors that could provide a connection, including its ‘emerging preference’ which includes a tunnel under Morecambe Bay.
