I want to secure our area as a place to live and work for generations to come. So I’m working with the government to bring the Eden Project to Morecambe. That means regenerating the former Bubbles Complex site and using the space for a new carbon neutral tourist attraction.
We have a responsibility to protect our local environment. That’s why I’ve been working to combat the threat of flooding, successfully campaigning to deliver the wave reflection defence wall, so homes and businesses are protected.
Jobs in energy are vital for our area and our nuclear workers help power the country. That’s why I’m committed to building Heysham 3 power station and protecting the existing facilities. I helped secure the site. Now I’ll keep working with the government to secure a developer.
We’ve got attractions to be proud of and are a destination for locals and tourists alike. So I’ll keep campaigning to revive local high streets. By bringing empty shops back into use and developing our West End.
I am committed to helping more people into work. That’s why I’m campaigning for a new business hub in Heysham. Using the Bay Gateway link road to connect the motorway and our port, linking our area with coastal industry. That means more room for local employers to grow and take on new staff.
