Lancashire soldier Private Scott Farmer finished his 123 mile coast to coast run this evening (Friday) at the Eric Morecambe Statue in Morecambe. Scott began the run at Scarborough Pier on Monday morning.
Scott ran the final five miles with colleagues from Alexandra Barracks and his local MP David Morris.
Speaking from the Eric Morecambe Statue David Morris MP said:
“This is marvellous, to complete the full distance from Scarborough to Eric Morecambe here on the front it’s a big achievement for Scott.”
Scott Farmer said from the finish line:
“It has been a challenge, it’s been painful and it’s certainly been a massive achievement.”
“I kept on thinking what I was doing it for and it just kept me going straight through that brick wall and on to the next day.”
An onlooker said:
“Well done to Scott, it was nice to share the joy of him finishing and it was great to see so many people from the military and members of the public waving Help For Heroes flags.”
Scott plans on having a hot bath, a rest and then he is going to start planning his next challenge. Anyone wishing to sponsor Scott can take a look at his fundraising site http://www.bmycharity.com/ScottFarmer .
