Unemployment levels in Morecambe are continuing to fall each month according to the latest statistics released by the House of Commons Library.
The latest figures state that in January 2015 1,282 people were unemployed. This is 26 lower than December and 555 lower than January 2014.
David Morris MP said ‘It is always good news to see the unemployment figures continuing to go down, in my constituency. I recently brought Iain Duncan Smith MP to visit the local Job centre to thank the staff for all of their hard work in getting people back to work. We currently have some of the best employment opportunities that the area has had in a long time and I am pleased that the job centre are signposting people to these opportunities.’
