David Morris MP has today launched a petition in association with Silverdale Parish Council, the petition calls for more trains to stop at Silverdale and improved connectivity with Manchester.
The petition reads:
We the undersigned support the campaign by David Morris MP and Silverdale Parish Council regarding train services to Silverdale Station. In particular;
- increasing the number of trains stopping at Silverdale
- reducing overcrowding by the provision of more modern carriages, especially relevant to Northern Rail
- reversing the reduction of direct services to Manchester.
David Morris MP said:
“During my recent summer tour one of the biggest issues to be raised was the need for more trains to call at Silverdale Station. I have decided to issue this petition so that commuters in Silverdale can make their voices heard in Parliament and directly to the rail companies.”
David Morris will present the petition to Parliament and to rail companies.
Anyone wishing to sign the petition can either contact their local Silverdale Parish Councillor or can sign the petition online http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/silverdale/ or can download their own version of the petition as a pdf file below.
