The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris has today praised Morecambe based DST and PHD Engineering for helping to reduce youth unemployment in the constituency and an overall reduction in unemployment.
Speaking in the House of Commons David Morris said:
“ Would my Rt. Hon. friend the Prime Minister join me in congratulating DST and PHD Engineering in Morecambe, they export fabricated metal products all across the world. They have contributed to the drop in youth unemployment in my constituency of 15% and overall unemployment has fallen by 10% in the last three months alone. Isn’t this in stark contrast to the gloomy economic predictions of the party opposite and would my Hon. friend visit DST with me.”
In response the Prime Minister Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP congratulated the excellent job that David Morris is doing standing up for the people of Morecambe & Lunesdale and across the North West. The Prime Minister went on to say:
“.. of course private sector employment is up by 45,000 since 2010, the number of people claiming job seekers allowance is down by 29,000 and he’s right that the party opposite predicted we would lose one million jobs, the answer is the complete opposite.”
Adding:
“It’s about time they apologized for prediction after prediction being wrong.”
