The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris is urging the whole community to meet in Happy Mount Park this morning at 10.30 to help tidy the poppy beds that were vandalised.
Back in February, local man Steve Trainor, organised the poppy scatter. The idea was the poppies will be in full bloom during the summer to commemorate the First World War. Sadly, over the weekend the poppy beds were vandalised.
David Morris MP said:
“I want the whole community to come to Happy Mount Park this morning. I was there in February to plant the seeds, I will be there again today to help repair the damage the vandals caused. “
“Today will be an especially poignant day because it’s the seventieth anniversary of the D-Day landings.”
