The former army commander and now MP for Beckenham Col. Bob Stewart DBE MP spoke at an event in Morecambe on Friday evening.
During a distinguished career in the military, Col. Bob completed seven tours in Northern Ireland and was promoted to the rank of Commanding Officer which would lead him to be the first United Nations Commander to take a Battalion to Bosnia.
Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris invited Col. Bob to talk about his life in the armed forces and of his new life as a Member of Parliament to former members of the armed forces and members of the public at Morecambe Golf Club.
David Morris MP said:
“Col. Bob has been keen to visit Morecambe for a while as his Aunt was a nurse at Morecambe Holiday Camp. Bob said to me he sees coming to Morecambe as a homecoming to people he likes a lot.”
