David Morris MP has welcomed news that crime has fallen on White Lund, in part due to the installation of a new CCTV system.
The CCTV system was setup by PCSO John Brayshaw in partnership with local businesses on White Lund. A total of more than 40 businesses contributed to the fund, including local CCTV company Bowker who installed the cameras.
David Morris MP met with some of the local businesses, PCSO John Brayshaw and his colleagues from the community Policing team to hear about the project.
David Morris MP said:
“This is a very clever idea, PCSO Brayshaw is the brains behind the project and has worked with the local community to deliver a CCTV system that is such good quality it has the ability to identify car registration plates and individuals.”
“I will be feeding back details of the White Lund Community CCTV to other Mp’s and Ministers.”
PCSO Brayshaw has recently acquired a further £4,000 from the Proceeds of Crime Act and the hope is to expand the project.
