David Morris MP has paid tribute to victims of the Tunisian terrorist attack which took place in a holiday resort in Sousse on Friday. Mr Morris participated in a minutes silence for the victims of the atrocity and subsequently used the questions to the urgent statement by the Prime Minister in the House of Commons today Mr Morris reiterated condolences to the families of the attack and also urged the Prime Minister to deploy further help to Gibraltar to allow Gibraltar to help humanitarian efforts in the region.
Speaking in the House of Commons David Morris MP said:
‘Thank you Mr Speaker. May I share the sentiments of what the Prime Minister has also said about the families and their bereavement? Given what is going on in that particular region with people trafficking, people coming across the waters, with terrorism in the region. Would my Rt Hon Friend the Prime Minister consider beefing up the resources to Gibraltar to help to combat terrorism and to move people around when needed’.
In response Prime Minister David Cameron said:
‘ I will certainly look at the point my Hon Friend makes as there is certainly pressures put on places like Malta, and if there are issues in Gibraltar I will certainly look at them’
