David Morris MP was on the judging panel of the Hack Smart 2014 event at InfoLab21 at Lancaster University.
A number of students in Lancaster and across Europe were given a brief and had 24 hours to develop an application to improve transportation, some of the developers had only three hours sleep writing codes through the night. There was a number of exciting, ideas including a system which uses GPS data to select a music playlist, when the traffic is free flowing the music is up beat and when there is slow traffic the music is more relaxing
David Morris MP said:
“ I have seen some amazing technology, to think these ideas have been designed in just twenty four hours – I am absolutely certain that if some of these ideas undergo further development we have the sat Navs of the future.”
A number of prizes were on offer to the top developers.
