The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris is encouraging constituents to take advantage of the Government’s Green Deal Home Improvement fund.
The £50M scheme launched last month to help homes become more energy efficient to save money and make Britain greener.
Morecambe & Lunesdale constituents can get up to £7,600 back through a new Green Deal Home Improvement Fund so they can take control of their bills and have warmer, greener homes.
The scheme is designed to help householders, landlords and tenants to install a range of energy efficiency measures such as solid wall insulation and new heating systems by providing them with money back on the contributions they make towards improvements.
Under the new incentive scheme, domestic energy customers can get:
• up to £1000 for installing two measures from an approved list; and/or
• up to £6000 for installing solid wall insulation; and
• up to £100 refunded for their Green Deal Assessment.
The scheme also entitles those who have bought a property in the 12 months prior to application to qualify for up to an additional £500 if they carry out energy efficiency improvements.
This follows the Government's commitment to provide a £540 million, three year energy efficiency package to make Britain’s homes and public buildings more energy efficient.
David Morris MP said:
“I am pleased the Government has made £50 Million available to households. I would like to encourage constituents to apply for the green deal, the summer months are the perfect time to prepare for when the temperature will drop later in the year.”
“Nationally, £8.5 Million was allocated within the first two weeks, it would be good to see some of the funding coming to Morecambe & Lunesdale to improve our energy efficiency and help reduce household bills.”
