Northern Powerhouse Minister visits Morecambe and Lunesdale.

This morning Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry MP visited Morecambe and Lunesdale. Jake met with David Morris MP at the Winter Gardens and was given a tour of the Winter Gardens by Evelyn Archer. Evelyn was able to tell the Minister of the Trust’s plans for further regeneration.

David Morris MP condemns illegal tobacco trade

David Morris MP hosted an event in Parliament to help MPs from all parties learn about the illegal trade in tobacco.

The event, organised by global tobacco manufacturer Japan Tobacco International (JTI), highlighted that illegal tobacco remains a significant problem across the UK.

David Morris MP welcomes Greyhound Bridge Funding

As part of the Highways Challenge fund the Department of Transport awarded 3.7 million pounds to Greyhound Bridge for renovation works. This comes after David Morris MP met with Secretary of State for Transport Chris Grayling to press for the cash.

Following the surface water flooding on the 19th August David Morris MP wrote to Councillor Geoff Driver to ask for a full assessment to be carried out on the drainage system in Morecambe and Lunesdale to ensure that properties do not flood again this winter.
