David Morris MP has given his support to a new initiative, which will remember those who lost their lives in the First World War. The 100th year anniversary of the start of World War One will be commemorated in August 2014.
The person behind the poppy scatter is Morecambe & Lunesdale resident Steve Trainor. The idea is to sew poppies in flower beds across Morecambe & Lunesdale as a symbol of remembrance for those who did not return home. The poppies will then be in full bloom in August 2014.
David Morris MP said:
“This really is an excellent idea to enable everyone in Morecambe & Lunesdale to remember those who did not come home after the First World War.”
“Watching poppies grow in flower beds right across the constituency will be a fitting tribute of remembrance and will serve as a reminder for all generations of the sacrifices that were made.”
