The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris last night met with Prime Minister David Cameron and James Wharton MP ahead of today’s historic EU vote.
James Wharton’s historic EU Referendum Bill will go before the House of Commons for the first time today. The Bill calls for a Referendum on Europe before 31st December 2017 asking the question “Do you think the United Kingdom Should be a member of the European Union?”
David Morris MP has previously been vocal in his opposition to European Union red tape in matters relating to farming, businesses, health and safety and more recently European regulations relating to Bovine TB. Notably David Morris MP campaigned against the European Union’s bizarre law of banning olive oil dipping bowls in restaurants.
Speaking from Downing Street last night David Morris MP said:
“I support James with his Bill and I would like to see a referendum on Europe to give the people of Morecambe & Lunesdale the chance to decide whether they want to be in our out. Laws that originate from Brussels are placing unnecessary red tape on businesses in Morecambe & Lunesdale and on our farmers too.”
David Morris is urging constituents to also register their views on Europe, by registering with the ‘Let Britain Decide’ website which is online at www.letbritaindecide.com
