The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris, has welcomed news that the Government is to reduce the amount of money it is willing to pay for on-shore wind farms.
David Morris MP said:
“I am pleased that the Government has reduced the amount being paid for on-shore wind, I hope this will deter the number of on-shore wind farm applications that are being submitted, particularly in the Lune Valley.”
The news comes just months after David Morris welcomed news that the Government advised local planners to take into consideration the feelings of communities when giving consent to planning applications, that campaign was led by David Morris MP and Chris Heaton-Harris MP (Con, Daventry.)
David added:
“Local communities have had enough of wind farms and I am pleased that the Government is working on new nuclear build too. Nuclear is the future and that is how we will keep the lights on in this country.”
