David Morris MP has today welcomed the Government’s announcement that it is to increase the Coastal Communities Fund pot to £29 Million in 2014 – 2015
Speaking from the Prom at Morecambe this morning David said:
“I am really pleased the fund has increased to £29 Million and I would encourage people in Morecambe & Lunesdale to bid for some of the money. Morecambe Bay Partnership received £0.5 Million recently from the fund.”
The Coastal Communities fund is generated from income received by the Government from the Crown’s Marine interests.
Funding from the Coastal Communities Awards are available for over £50,000 to for projects lasting up to two years. The following types of organisation can apply:
- charities
- voluntary and community sector organisations
- social enterprises, including cooperatives and community ownership initiatives
- local authorities
- local enterprise partnerships in England
private sector companies.
