The Morecambe & Lunesdale MP David Morris has today welcomed the Secretary of State’s decision to grant final planning permission for the M6 Link Road to be built.
The road, which is costing £123 Million will be funded by The Department for Transport (£111 Million) and Lancashire County Council (£12 Million)
Speaking from Westminster David Morris MP said, “I am thoroughly delighted by today’s news. This new link road will connect the Port of Heysham, Heysham Power Station and Morecambe & Lunesdale to the M6. I saw the Secretary of State last night who congratulated me for securing the funding and I am now looking forward to work commencing on the road.”
Construction is expected to start in July 2013 with the road opening in December 2015.
