The Chancellor Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP has praised the hard working people of Morecambe and said that he’d like young couples who live in Morecambe to be able to afford to buy their own home and not have to live with parents. Speaking to Conservative Party Conference in Manchester Mr. Osborne said:
“But too many people are still being denied the dream of owning their own home. So instead of starting the second phase of Help to Buy next year, we’re starting it next week.
There are some people - many living in the richest parts of London - who say we shouldn’t be doing these things. I have this to say:
Take you arguments down the road to Nelson or Colne, where house prices have fallen for the past five years. Take your arguments to Bury, or Morecambe, where young working couples are still living at home with their parents.”
Speaking from Manchester David Morris MP said:
“I speak to the Chancellor on a regular basis and he is always keen to know what is happening in Morecambe, he visited the constituency a few years ago too and I have visited and spoken in his Tatton constituency.”
“I welcome the announcement that the next phase of Help to Buy will launch next week.”
During the conference week David Morris will be addressing the fringe nuclear power event and will attend an event with the First Minister of Gibraltar.
